A key economic initiative of the Wynyard Quarter redevelopment is the new Auckland Innovation Precinct. Delivered across several buildings, it brings together R&D, start-ups, an incubator and established local and multi-national businesses.
As project director for Waterfront Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter redevelopment, Dan was responsible for the real estate strategy and the delivery of the required floorspace while the partner economic development agency curated and operated the precinct.
The floorspace delivery included developing the stage 1 building, which involved a heritage refurbishment and working with Precinct Properties, New Zealand’s leading commercial office developer and investor, to realise future stages.
Operationally, the space was head leased to Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development, which subsequently subcontracted the curation of the start-up hub.
