The Wynyard Quarter is Auckland’s premier waterfront destination, a 10ha former marine industrial area on reclaimed land, which is being transformed into a mixed-use precinct.
As project director for Waterfront Auckland, Dan was responsible for the precinct’s development strategy, delivery of public realm, the commercial arrangements and market process, and transacting with two of New Zealand’s leading property developers to deliver commercial office and residential projects. Following the market process, he oversaw the approval of their first stage projects.
Dan was also responsible for design and delivery of a range of public realm projects across both the Wynyard Quarter and Westhaven Marina, including:
Westhaven Promenade - a c.1km long boardwalk and shared path which opened up this important piece of Auckland’s waterfront to the public for the first time.
Madden, Pakenham, & Halsey Streets – new high quality streets and associated landscaping
Daldy Street linear park – a linear park and major street spine connecting Victoria Park in Freeman’s Bay through the Wynyard Quarter central precinct to Silo Park and the North Wharf on the waterfront itself.
